urban and the premier membership organization for commercial interior designers and architects, IIDA (International Interior Design Association) have partnered together to launch the #BeMoreInclusive program in the US.
We know that diversity and inclusion make organisations more effective, more successful and more profitable. That’s why we work in ways that promote inclusion, supporting our clients to build a diverse workforce and BeMore inclusive.
Director of urban
urban is working hard to address the under-representation of ethnic minorities within the architectural and interior design professions. To do this we have partnered with the commercial interior design-focused member organization IIDA ( International Interior Design Association) in the US. We have created programmes to support and encourage young people from under-represented backgrounds to pursue careers in architecture and interior design and to help employers in the built environment industry to diversify their workforce and, as a result, strengthen their businesses.

|Due to the transformational change created by the positive action of our former #BeMoreInclusive initiative in the UK design markets, urban is excited to launch our highly recommended program stateside along with our good friends and partners IIDA. |
Implementing the #BeMoreInclusive initiative in the US with IIDA will help tackle the shared challenges facing under-represented communities in the design industry in the US. By offering inclusivity-driven interior design and architectural firms recruitment solutions, we will directly support these individuals through targeted recruitment, fund-raising and enhanced emphasis on diversity.
urban will deliver an exclusive solution to IIDA’s members for your strategic or business-critical hires. We will partner with your firm under a retained executive search agreement, presenting you with the best under-represented candidates and working closely with you until the vacancy is filled.
When your firm joins as a corporate member of the #BeMoreInclusive program, urban will donate $2,500 to IIDA’s charitable foundation for each architectural or interior design professional you employ via our introduction.
We are here to help the next generation of minority architectural and interior design professionals take their first employment steps into the industry. We will work with your business to help you attract and employ junior talent by supporting them in gaining their first interior design or architectural job role with your business. urban will provide our services on a pro-bono basis, only asking you to donate $2,500 to the IIDA’s charitable work for every professional you take on as part of the Graduate program.
