Senior Interior Designer – Corporate Workplace

Established over 70 years ago in NYC, this firm quickly became industry front runners and can still be found on ‘Interior Design’s Top 100 Giants’ list. Due to continued expansion, urban have been appointed to recruit an experienced Senior Interior Designer for a full time position in the New York studio.

The ideal candidate will assume responsibility for managing the design of an array of projects varying in scale and complexity, across all design stages. Leading a team of designers, this individual will be involved from design brief and concept ideation through development, construction administration and delivery on site.

Responsibilities will include:

* Developing and coordinating conceptual design including mood boards, presentations, spatial design and design packages
* Selecting and sourcing FF&E
* Millwork detailing, specifications and reviewing shop drawings
* Leading and managing junior and intermediate Designers
* Working across multiple projects to strict deadlines
* Coordinating with external design teams, vendors and manufacturers
* Attending meetings and managing client expectations
* Trouble shooting as necessary
* Project documentation


* Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture or Interior Design
* At least 10 years of relevant professional experience
* LEED registration and/or NCIDQ
* Revit, AutoCAD, Enscape, Adobe CS proficiency required
* Working knowledge of building code, standards and construction types
* Up to date knowledge of interior finishes, materials, lighting, fixtures, suppliers and manufacturers
* Experience of sustainable building practices
* Excellent communication skills
* Strong Management experience

Salary is commensurate on experience but ranges from $90,000 – $110,000 pa + benefits, salary reviews and discretionary bonuses.
