urban is delighted to be working with one of our favorite New York architectural studios, with who we do a large volume of repeat business, in their search for a Project Manager.

This studio are c.100-strong and based in Manhattan. They work predominantly on projects for the betterment of New York City and it’s people – institutional, education, public and civic work in the city and state. They have a flexible work policy and hybrid schedule – which demonstrates their healthy culture of trust in their staff. They are well staffed and resourced, so there is no long-hour culture in the practice. They also have a very steady pipeline of work, and a very low turnover of staff.

They are a full-service studio, who work through all phases of design and delivery on their projects, many of which are local and directly impact New York City and it’s communities.

They are currently looking for a Project Manager to lead a $35m, New York State, institutional project through the whole cycle, currently in SD, this project will need management through the entire cycle to completion. It is an interesting site over 3 acres, and the project will comprise of ground up, renovation and redevelopment of the site’s infrastructure. The role can either be hands-on, involved in design and detailing, or can be purely a management role, overseeing and directing the client.

The right person for this role will possess around 15 years’ experience in architecture and design, with a minimum of 5 years in project management. You must have worked on institutional projects – understanding the state’s processes and how they operate is crucial to being able to manage the client and drive the job forward. You must also possess a working knowledge of Revit.
