Our client are seeking an experienced Assistant Design Manager to join their transportation design team in New York City. You will have a strong background in transportation design and be able to hit the ground running on a variety of exciting and challenging projects while working closely with the Principals in charge.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead the design development, coordination and delivery of transportation projects in the New York City area.
* Work closely with project managers and other design team members to develop design concepts and ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
* Collaborate with clients, consultants, and stakeholders to understand their needs and develop design solutions that meet their requirements.
* Prepare detailed design drawings, models, and specifications in accordance with relevant design standards and codes.
* Ensure that projects are designed to be sustainable and meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
* Provide guidance and mentorship to junior members of the design team.
* Stay up-to-date with industry developments and emerging trends in transportation design.


* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or a related field.
* 9 to 12 years of relevant experience in transportation design, with a focus on rail, metro or bus rapid transit.
* Strong design skills and a passion for creating innovative and functional design solutions.
* Experience in leading design teams and delivering projects on time and within budget.
* Proficient in Revit, Microstation and other relevant design software.
* Strong communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
* Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

This is a full-time position with expected compensation between $100,000 – $120,000 per annum, commensurate with experience. Full healthcare benefits provided at no cost to employee.
